How long have you been doing CrossFit?

I started at a CrossFit gym in 2018.   I’ve been strength training and doing high intensity workouts since roughly 2010. 

What was your first CrossFit workout and how did you do?

 I don’t remember the specifics of my first CrossFit workout, but I do remember doing A LOT of different isometric holds during my first class.

What’s your athletic background? Did you play any sports growing up?

I played sports year-round growing up and continued through college.  I started intentional and structured workouts in high-school and have stuck with it since.  CrossFit is now my year-round sport.

What inspires you as a coach – why do you do it?

The community and its people.  I could go on and on about this but the people are the best part.   I love helping people reach their goals, pushing people to be better, watching people grow, etc.

What are your favorite and least favorite CrossFit movements?

Favorite: Any gymnastics movements—they are the newest to me and fun to work on. 

Least Favorite: Devil’s Press—they only go so fast and with a name like that…

What is one piece of advice you would offer to someone new to CrossFit?

Walk in the door.  That is the hardest part about CrossFit. 

What is your favorite thing about CrossFit ?

The community and its people.  I’ve met lifelong friends, mentors, and a connection for just about any need in life.  Plus, having a place where you can go to laugh, cry, and suffer through workouts together is pretty damn cool. 

I also love that CrossFit offers the constant ability to grow and progress.  From the most elite athletes in the world, to the everyday athlete who just wants to improve their quality of life, everyone can always get better.

Ehhh, a few top finishes in local road races.
